Ipath footwear is the idea of skater Matt Field. Ipath means to follow your path. Matt wanted a skate shoe that was fashionable yet simple. In addition, he waned shoes that would be good for skateboarding performance. Combining these ideals with the follow your own path idea, Ipath has held true to those roots as they hve developed. As they continue to evolve, they continue to focus on fundamentals. Working to develop alternatives to wht eveyone else wears, a new way of looking at things, and a product that encourages you to follow your own path.

THE IPATH FOOTWEAR MOVEMENT WAS FIRST ESTABLISHED IN 1998 WITH A VISION TO OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE PATH TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN SKATE FOOTWEAR.IT WAS THE IDEA OF PROFESSIONAL SKATEBOARDER MATT FIELD. MATT ORIGINALLY WANTED A SKATE SHOE THAT WAS FASHIONABLE, YET SIMPLE. IN ADDITION, HE WANTED HIS SHOES TO BE GOOD FOR SKATEBOARDING PERFORMANCE. MATT COMBINED THESE IDEAS WITH HIS POSITIVE OUTLOOK ON LIFE AND THUS "I-PATH" - MEANING "FOLLOW YOUR PATH" - WAS DEVELOPED. # IPATH HAS SLOWLY EVOLVED SINCE THEN, BUT THEY HAVE HELD TRUE TO THEIR ROOTS. AS THEY EVOLVE, YOU WILL CONTINUE TO SEE A FURTHER COMMITMENT FROM MATT FIELD AND THEIR ENTIRE TEAM TO CONSISTENTLY OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE TO WHAT IS OUT THERE, A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT THINGS, AND A PRODUCT THAT MANY CAN IDENTIFY WITH. # “FOLLOW YOUR PATH”

Ipath Cats - have 5 pairs of these now! Ok... Since I don't wear leather it is hard to find cool looking hemp or canvas shoes. These look GREAT! I have the Olive and black and I have had 2 pairs of the tan (natural) which I wore every day, and they NEVER failed (they just got too dirty after a while! I am getting the natural burlap today, so I will write back. These are great!

Run a little small! Order a half size up from what you would normally wear, these run small! Overall though, a HOT shoe, comfy and can be pulled off as work shoes with khakis!

Ipath Grasshopper - The end of an era: the Grasshopper - I have been skating for 15 years - before it was cool. The Grasshopper was a great shoe for Ipath. The best bottom is the natural rubber; anything dyed on bottom started to run out fast and just didn’t have the same grippiness. This shoe is a little hot with the lining, but it’s the last of the Grasshoppers around and I’m happy to have it. So dumb of Ipath to not keep making a good staple.

Started in 1988 by Matt Field, Ipath Shoes are more than just a product and the people who buy and wear them are more than just customers. When Matt sat down to create a shoe it came from his frustration with existing shoes and how they failed to deliver both style and comfort to avid skateboarders. That’s right – skateboarders. Matt Field was one of what has turned out to be a rather large group of young men and women who cherish their sport. They live it completely – right down to their shoes. Ipath, which means “follow your path” is now synonymous with the skate boarding phenomena that has spread rapidly around the world. And for any serious skateboarding enthusiast the only shoe that is considered proper to wear is the Ipath line Time has changed the concept little since its inception as the ever growing family of Ipath wearing skateboarders has weighed in with their wants and desires for future footwear products. With names like grasshopper, mesa and yogi and other shoes named after the skateboarding “celebrities” who brandish them you start to get the idea that Ipath shoes are different from the rest. How many companies can you name that have created several styles of footwear in their line made out of hemp? Ipath may be the only one.

    Width Sizing / Shoe Sizing

    Women's Shoe Widths
    4A 2A B D 2E 4E
    X-Narrow Narrow Standard Wide X-Wide XX-Wide
    Men's Shoe Widths
    2A B D 2E 4E 6E
    X-Narrow Narrow Standard Wide X-Wide XX-Wide

What width & size are you?

  • The general rule is that standard Men's width is D. For Women, the standard width is B. If most of the shoes you have purchased in the past have a comfortable width then go with the default.
  • If the shoes you are wearing feel overly wide, you should consider selecting a narrower width size. Shop For Narrow Shoes.
  • If the shoes you wear tend to feel narrow, then you should consider selecting a wider width size. Shop For Wide Shoes
  • If your feet seem "between" sizes and you cannot decide which size to select, we suggest you choose the larger size. You can make adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern.
  • Try shoes on later in the day when your feet are at their largest.

    Sizing Tips

  • The heel should not slip, the midfoot of the shoe under your arch and over the top of your foot should be snug but not tight; and you should have enough room in the toe area to wiggle your toes.
  • Women's feet often become a half-size (or more) larger after pregnancy.
  • Feet typically get bigger with age. People are more than twice as likely to buy a shoe that is too small than too big.
  • Boots are often worn with bulky socks, while sandals are hopefully not. Sizing may be affected with how much extra padding you have.
  • Heat makes your feet swell and cold may shrink them. Think about temperature when choosing sizes.
  • Fully utilize a the return policy by ordering multiple sizes, then keep what fits best and return the rest.
