I was so relieved to see it does slide over to the side, which I like much better. Also, the front is a little more narrow than I would like but my forefoot is not narrow anyway. At least it doesn't hang over, it just makes the edge of the front shoe. Besides that the shoe fits true to size.< This is an instant classic, a must have for any serious shoer.p>
