These boots are beauties! If you have an athletic or wide calf, they might not be for you. However, those of us who have a hard time finding boots that fit our calves, these are well worth the money. The toe is fabulous, very fashion forward. Put a gel insert to cushion the footbed and you have the perfect boot!
Cute and comfortable - As cute as they are, I wasn't so sure about how comfy these would be, so I was pleasantly surprised to find them to be great - I am on my feet all day at work and my feet were in good shape with these. Didn't even have to break them in!
The max studio website calls these "Victorian glove" leather, but a glove is supposed to fit tight and these just were way too baggy on me. I agree with the previous reviewer that the style should look like a pair of heels and sexy button-hook stockings, fitting the calf tightly- but they wont for smaller calves. The leather is unlined, glove thin, so this style may work if you have 15 to 16 inch or larger calves, forcing the leather to stretch like a glove. I can't imagine pants being tucked into these without weird bulges happening. The bullnose toe is funky and the platform is this block of wood under the thin leather- I believe the style needs a muscular calf to even out the shoe's base form, otherwise it looks weird. My skinny ankles and calves were overpowered by the bullnose block. Color: The black leather is shiny with sheen, while the brown leather is matte with the exception of the heel and toe which are shiny. I liked both colors, leaning to the look of the dark brown, worn with opaque tights, like the max studio product photo. Alas, in the end I had to return both colors because of the improper fit. Size is true- I absolutely loved the look of the buttons from the outside leg. The inside leg (zipper side) wasn't so pretty. and one last note: these are very delicate boots. They wont last long for street wear.

What width & size are you?
The general rule is that standard Men's width is D. For Women, the standard width is B. If most of the shoes you have purchased in the past have a comfortable width then go with the default.

If your feet seem "between" sizes and you cannot decide which size to select, we suggest you choose the larger size. You can make adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern.
Try shoes on later in the day when your feet are at their largest.
Sizing Tips
The heel should not slip, the midfoot of the shoe under your arch and over the top of your foot should be snug but not tight; and you should have enough room in the toe area to wiggle your toes.
Women's feet often become a half-size (or more) larger after pregnancy.
Feet typically get bigger with age. People are more than twice as likely to buy a shoe that is too small than too big.
Boots are often worn with bulky socks, while sandals are hopefully not. Sizing may be affected with how much extra padding you have.
Heat makes your feet swell and cold may shrink them. Think about temperature when choosing sizes.
Fully utilize a the return policy by ordering multiple sizes, then keep what fits best and return the rest.
