The North Face, a retailer of high-performance climbing and backpacking equipment. (The name was selected because in the Northern Hemisphere, the north face of a mountain is generally the coldest, iciest and most formidable to climb.) In 1966, two hiking enthusiasts founded a small mountaineering retail store in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach. In 1968, The North Face began designing and manufacturing its own brand of high-performance mountaineering apparel and equipment, and in the early 1980s, extreme skiwear was added to the product offering. By the end of the decade, The North Face became the only supplier in the United States to offer a comprehensive collection of high-performance outerwear, skiwear, sleeping bags, packs and tents, and now....shoes.

Solid boot but not for hiking - Excellent comfort, support, true to size but not a hiking boot. Traction is average at best, definitely built for comfort and shuffling around on flat terrain.
Toasty toes - After reading quite a few reviews I decided to get these boots for a snowshoe trip. These boots are incredibly warm. When first trying them on it seemed like they were a little high in the ankle but it turned out to be a good thing b/c I didn't need to get the extra coverings so the snow wouldn't get in my socks/shoes. I wanted to get a good winter boot for the trip but also be able to wear it for Colorado winters (where I’m from originally).
Painfull!!! Don't get me wrong. These boots LOOK awesome. BUT, having worn them twice, not only do they fit too tightly (I also have north Face shoes, i bought the same size) and there is some sort of "support" in the upper-rear, near the top, that causes A LOT of pain. And not a chaffing pain. A digging into your bone kind of pain. No matter how you tie them up. The left and right shoe feel imbalanced. I got shin splints in my left leg, and pain in the arch of my right foot.
Hiking enthusiasts beware, when you are wearing North Face footwear you are in for extreme comfort and durable conditions. North Face has become a top retailer of high-performance backpacking and climbing equipment. They design a great collection of everything for the outdoors from outerwear, skiwear, sleeping bags, tents and more. A highlight of the North Face line would have to be their outstanding footwear. They offer a great line, which includes hiking boots, multisport shoes, sandals, trail runners and more. With North Face, they carry styles for both men and women so there is bound to be a style that fits your needs and lifestyle.

What width & size are you?
The general rule is that standard Men's width is D. For Women, the standard width is B. If most of the shoes you have purchased in the past have a comfortable width then go with the default.
If the shoes you are wearing feel overly wide, you should consider selecting a narrower width size. Shop For Narrow Shoes.
If the shoes you wear tend to feel narrow, then you should consider selecting a wider width size. Shop For Wide Shoes
If your feet seem "between" sizes and you cannot decide which size to select, we suggest you choose the larger size. You can make adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern.
Try shoes on later in the day when your feet are at their largest.
Sizing Tips
The heel should not slip, the midfoot of the shoe under your arch and over the top of your foot should be snug but not tight; and you should have enough room in the toe area to wiggle your toes.
Women's feet often become a half-size (or more) larger after pregnancy.
Feet typically get bigger with age. People are more than twice as likely to buy a shoe that is too small than too big.
Boots are often worn with bulky socks, while sandals are hopefully not. Sizing may be affected with how much extra padding you have.
Heat makes your feet swell and cold may shrink them. Think about temperature when choosing sizes.
Fully utilize a the return policy by ordering multiple sizes, then keep what fits best and return the rest.
